According to China's MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) on January 28, the country's smartphone shipments reached around 457 million units in 2015, up 17.7% year on year, with approximately 386 million 4G subscribers by the end of the year. Moreover, the Ministry said that China's mobile phone users (feature phones and smartphones together) exceeded 1.3 billion, of them 785 million or 60.1% were mobile broadband users (people who access the web via mobile devices). As for mobile data usage, Chinese mobile phone subscribers used 4.2 billion GB of mobile data in 2015, surging 103% against the previous year.
